Keith Bevan

Keith sings in the bass section of the choir. In 1993 he was invited to join by a member, the late Wilf Horton, who at that time worked with Keith's wife. His interest in music began during childhood when he was a member of the Salvation Army.

During this time Keith learned to play the flugelhorn and played in the band until the late 1950's. He also sang in a mixed 'Songster brigade' and in a male voice octet. Joining the choir was obviously right for him and he has been an ever present member.

On leaving school Keith went to work as a weighing machine technician - a job he obviously liked as he remained with the same company for forty nine years before retiring in 1999! He should know his scales!

As a young man he played football and basketball as well as playing cricket for various local teams until he reached his mid-forties. He tells me his wife often accompanied him to matches where she was employed as scorer. He still has a keen interest in sport and has supported his local town team for forty five years, seeing almost all their home matches.

Now retired, Keith spends time in his greenhouse and garden and walking his dog. After so long with one company you deserve to enjoy it Keith!
