George sings in the first tenor section of the choir. He is a founder member and has been a regular soloist at our concerts for many years. His early experiences with music came from his days as a boy chorister in Rochester and later as a flautist with Kent County Youth Orchestra.
Born in Scotland, George moved at an early age to Rochester. On completion of his education in the Medway area he joined the police service as a cadet at Hendon. Following a successful career with Kent Police he retired in 2003. After his retirement, George and his wife Eileen spent a year in Adelaide, where he worked for the South Australia Police as a consultant on intelligence matters.
George and Eileen have three grown up children, grandchildren and live on the East coast of Kent. He lists amongst his hobbies golf, walking, kayaking, gardening and spending his pension!! He says he sings as a tenor because they get to sing all the best tunes!!!
Welcome back to the fold George!
