Bob joined the choir in 1998 after seeing a notice and then being invited to do so by another member Charles Hitchcock.
His previous choral experience includes singing with the Maidstone Gilbert and Sullivan Society for eight years, singing currently with Dymchurch church choir and singing in what he describes as an 'end of the pier type' concert party which has been raising money for a local hospice for many years. This group was seen in a large shopping centre in Maidstone singing carols for hour after hour at Christmas 2001, where they raised a considerable sum for charity.
Bob attended Erith Technical College then spent eight years in the Royal Navy as a radar mechanic. After leaving in 1955 he went to work on guided missile trials at a Kent company. He remained with the company for 38 years working in avionics designing advanced aircraft control systems. He was the technical author in the research laboratory prior to his early retirement in 1993.
His interests outside music are reading, diy and computing. Good to have you aboard Bob, in the 'engine room' of the Choir!
